AUDITION NOTICE: FALL 2024

The American Spiritual Ensemble (ASE) is a critically acclaimed professional group composed of some of the finest singers in the classical music world. The vocalists have thrilled audiences around the world with their dynamic renditions of classic Spirituals, Jazz and Broadway numbers.

The American Spiritual Ensemble is holding auditions for their upcoming tour in New York City this year. All voice parts are invited to audition. We are looking for versatile performers who are adept at singing Negro Spirituals as well as other styles that highlight the Black Experience.

Audition Location:
New York, NY (Midtown) - exact location will be disclosed once an appointment is scheduled

Date:
Saturday, September 28, 2024 – 11am - 7pm
Sunday, September 29, 2024 – 3pm - 7pm

Audition Requirements:
4 pieces including at least 2 Spirituals. Other selections may include Art Songs, Oratorio, Musical Theater selections or Arias.

Audition Materials:
Please bring sheet music, resume and head shot.
An accompanist will be provided; however, you can bring your own if you like.
